ChocoModica: a unique opportunity to taste Modica chocolate

If you plan to go on holiday in Sicily in Autumn, this is the right opportunity to participate in the annual edition of ChocoModica 2019. The famous event dedicated to chocolate this year will be held from October 31st to November 3rd, always in the splendid location of the Val di Noto.

ChocoModica 2019 is an event dedicated to the famous Modica chocolate, a typical Sicilian sweet, recently embellished by the IGP brand. Why is this chocolate so famous all over the world? The main reason is its processing at low temperatures, which avoids the organoleptic alteration and preserves the unique and special flavor of cocoa, whose percentage is never less than 65%.

Modica chocolate is rich in spices, especially cinnamon and vanilla, but also chilli and ginger. From 2014 it is also possible to visit the Modica Chocolate Museum, which is located in the Palace of Culture.

What to see in Sicily in Autumn

If you are in Sicily in October to go to ChocoModica 2019, you cannot miss the opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful places in Sicily. Modica is located in the south-east of the island, so if you don’t want to go too far away from this place, you can organize a seven-day tour of eastern Sicily.

After reaching the port of Messina by ferry, you can go down along the coast and visit the beautiful Taormina, then arrive in the city of Catania and after in Syracuse, until you reach Modica in about one hour by car. Here you can stop for the weekend and participate in ChocoModica 2019, after having visited some of the most beautiful places in Sicily.
