Favignana or Lampedusa? Here are the beaches that are right for you

Favignana or Lampedusa for your next holidays dedicated only to the sea and relaxation? This is really a dilemma. Because, given the distance, being able to see them both on the same trip can be at least difficult. But they are both beautiful, the temptation is strong and the indecision is great.

How to do? First of all, you can choose your destination based on which beaches are right for you. And then leave what remains as an opportunity for a next trip.

Beaches of Favignana

The beaches of Favignana are many and there are really for all tastes: sand, pebbles, coves, crowded beaches and less frequented beaches. In short, you really only have to choose your favorite, as this island offers many possibilities for a holiday dedicated solely to relaxation.

Beaches of Lampedusa

Unlike Favignana, always crowded during the summer, the beaches of Lampedusa will give you the feeling of being very far away from the modernity and stress of everyday life. Consider, however, that, in principle, they are very small beaches and coves and mainly of rocks and pebbles.

How to get

First of all, you have to book a place on one of the ferries to Sicily with destination Palermo. From here, then, you have to reach two different cities, based on which is the island you have chosen.

  • Ferries to Favignana leave from the port of Trapani, which is about an hour and a half drive from Palermo. The crossing will take you about an hour by ferry and thirty minutes by hydrofoil.
  • Instead, the ferries to Lampedusa leave from Porto Empedocle, which is located along the southern coast of Sicily, about two hours drive from Palermo.

We advise you to board cars on the ferry and to park it near the port of embarkation.

Pantelleria or Favignana

If you want to be honest with yourself, do you still have another doubt? That is: are you also undecided between Favignana or Pantelleria? Once again, we can give you some useful advice to choose the right destination.
