Ficodindia fest: two days to discover the taste and traditions of Sicily

In the picture you can see the flower of one of the symbols of Sicily: the fig. And if you are spending a little autumn vacation in this beautiful land these days, there is an event that we recommend to discover tastes, flavors and traditions: the 2018 edition of Ficodindia fest in Santa Margherita Belice, which will be held on October 20th and 21st.

The festival

The ingredients of Ficodindia fest 2018 will be the same that have made it, over time, an inevitable appointment of autumn in Sicily: gastronomy, tradition, art, culture and folklore. A simply perfect mix for two days full of tastings, shows, exhibitions and guided tours. To discover a place Where even thorns taste (taking up the claim of the event).

Santa Margherita Belice

Between a tasting and a theatrical show, do not miss the time to visit what has been renamed “the city of Gattopardo”: to see in Santa Margherita Belice there is so much, and some of the simply unmissable places are the Gattopardo museum, the municipal villa and the Park of Remembrance. A walk through its streets and squares will be a more than pleasant experience.

How to get

Starting from Palermo (one of the main ports where ferries arrive to and leave fromSicily), it takes about an hour by car, driving along the highway 624, to get to Santa Margherita Belice. Cars (or motorbikes, or campers) that, of course, you can embark on the ferry.
