Guttuso/Incorpora/Messina: a great exhibition in Linguaglossa, Catania

The protagonists of this event are three great artists. Each of them is different but similar to the others at the same time. And until October 31st, 2016, they will “meet” in Linguaglossa, during the exhibition Guttuso / Incorpora / Messina. Inedite visioni ai piedi dell’Etna. A wonderful opportunity to make this holiday in Sicily in October even more special.

Three artists for one exhibition

The first two protagonists are Renato Guttuso and Salvatore Incorpora. Although they never worked together, their art is similar: the poetic, the social engagement, the woman/muse, the idyll of nature, and the realism. Pictures to describe the hypocrisy of power.

Near some of the most famous paintings of these two artists there are the sculptures by Francesco Messina. The works of these three artists, in the same exhibition, seem to complement each other to form a unique artistic career path.

How to get there

The Museo Francesco Messina, where the exhibition takes place, is in Linguaglossa, a small municipality in the province of Catania. To get there from the city near Etna:

  • Take A18 motorway towards Messina;
  • Take Fiumefreddo exit;
  • Take county road 120 and follow the road signs to Linguaglossa.

The journey by car takes about one hour.

A coast to discover

This exhibition is a great idea during a holiday along Sicilian east coast. And this is the itinerary for a seven-days vacation:

  • Messina (first and second day);
  • Taormina (third day);
  • Catania (fourth day);
  • Etna (fifth day);
  • Syracuse (sixth and seventh day).
