The park

The first thing to impress about the park is its size: almost 40 thousand hectares, representing approximately 2% of the entire Sicilian territory. A place of inestimable natural value, ideal for walking and hiking. The park is home to half of the plant species, half of all bird species and all species of mammals of Sicily.

The largest cities from where you can reach the Madonie Park are three: Palermo, Messina and Catania. And the best way to move is to have a car or a motorcycle.

 

Getting to Madonie Park from Palermo:

  • take the A19 towards Catania
  • exit Scillato
  • once you get to the center of Scillato, follow the signs to the park.

 

Getting the Madonie Park from Messina:

  • take the highway A20 towards Palermo
  • exit Castelbuono
  • once you get to the town of Castelbuono, follow the signs to the park.

 

Getting the Madoniepark from Catania:

  • take the A19 towards Palermo
  • exit Scillato
  • once you get to the center of Scillato, follow the signs to the park.
