How to get to Magaggiari beach: one of the most beautiful near Palermo

We’re talking about one of the most beautiful beaches in Palermo and this just would be a good reason to visit Magaggiari beach. And this is your intention, too, because you’re planning to spend a holiday in the Sicilian capital city. Now, you just need to know how to get there.

The beach

This is the view that will be offered to you: a long and beautiful white sand beach, overlooking the Gulf of Castellammare. The sea, as you can see from the photo, is crystal clear and turquoise. The water is shallow, so it’s a beach suitable for a holiday with kids.

An area is occupied by a lido, but the most part of it is free. Thanks to the near town, on Magaggiari beach you can find all the facilities you could wish for.

How to get there

Magaggiari beach is in the municipality of Cinisi. To get to Cinisi from Palermo:

  • By car. Take the E90 towards west and follow the road signs to Cinisi. The journey by car takes about 45 minutes.
  • Bus. From the Central Station of the Sicilian capital city, several buses every day bring tourists from Palermo to Cinisi. The journey by bus takes about an hour and a half.

Once in Cinisi, Magaggiari beach is in via Peppino Impastato (the name of the street).

Punta Raisi

As you will surely notice, Cinisi and Magaggiari beach are near Punta Raisi and the Falcone e Borsellino airport. Since you are here, there are two beaches that you really should visit:

  • Punta Raisi. Small rocks make the sea beds of Punta Raisi simply spectacular (but, maybe, they’re not suitable for children).
  • Fondo Orsa. Walking along the promenade Cristoforo Colombo, you’ll get to an ancient tuna fishery. Beyond the fishery, the landscape is characterized by pristine waters.
