Milazzo, the city between the two gulfs: the 7 most beautiful beaches

A place in Sicily to be experienced. A small town that rises between two gulfs, the one of the same name and the Gulf of Patti. A place where you can relax and enjoy the sun, the sea and the tranquility. All you have to do is to choose the one you prefer among the beaches of Milazzo. Like these seven, which can be considered the most beautiful.

The most beautiful beaches

  1. Ponente beach. Probably the most famous among the beaches of Milazzo, and also among the most popular and equipped, composed of small white and polished pebbles. The sea, obviously, is a postcard. In addition, the beach of Ponente is almost completely free, alternatively there are several beaches. A beach for all ages and for all tastes, suitable for those looking for relaxation as for those who want fun.
  2. Vaccarella beach. The place to go if you want to experience the ancient atmosphere of Milazzo. This beach, in fact, is located in a fishing area, and is characterized by the large number of boats standing along the shore, and by the nets that are stretched out in the sun to dry.
  3. Croce di mare. For the inhabitants of Milazzo, this is the oldest bathing resort in absolute, and in many cases also the favorite. Croce di Mare is a very varied beach: one part is sandy, while another is characterized by the presence of pebbles, and towards the end there are rocks. Right on one of the rocks there is the small statue of a Madonnina.
  4. Paradise Bay. The name has a double reason: the first is the beauty of the place, the second is an effigy of the Madonna del Paradiso preserved in a private chapel overlooking the bay (accessible only from the sea). The seabed is sandy, rich in posidonia, and the water is so transparent that the seabed is also visible from above.
  5. Renella bay. A small and enchanting place. On one side there is a small beach of fine white sand. On the other, there is the spectacle represented by the view of the Aeolian islands that you see on the horizon.
  6. Tono bay. The milazzesi still call this beach with its ancient name: ‘Ngònia. It is the final stretch of the West’s promenade. The beach is almost all straight, towards the end then it bends into a rocky ridge with cliffs. Surely among the most beautiful in the city.
  7. Pool of Venere. The name is a whole program. It is a body of water set between jagged rocks that reach the sea and almost seem to embrace it. Reaching the Pool of Venere is not easy but the show, we can guarantee it, is incomparable.

What to see

The beaches are a lot but they are not the only thing in this holiday. Because the things to see in Milazzo are many more: for example, like the ancient village, the castle, the old cathedral and the new cathedral. Moreover, this city is famous precisely because it is able to combine an ancient history and a breathtaking nature.

How to get

All you have to do is to book a ferry to Sicily.

  • Ferries to Milazzo mainly depart from Naples and from Vibo Valentia.
  • Alternatively, you can choose to arrive in Messina and, from here, you have to take the E90 towards east and exit at Milazzo-Aeolian Islands. The journey by car, which you can take on the ferry, takes about forty minutes.

Aeolian Islands

We have another suggestion. Because from Milazzo ferries to take visitors to the so-called seven sisters depart: take advantage of this trip to discover the Aeolian Islands.
