What to do in the Nebrodi adventure park: excursions and trails

During a vacation, you would like to spend at least one day completely immersed in nature, preferably hiking. If the holiday we are talking about is near Messina, we have the solution you are looking for: Nebrodi adventure park, one of the most famous adventure parks in Sicily.

• Bosco di Mangalaviti. Located in the municipality of Longi. It is an extraordinarily beautiful wood: beech tree is, in a sense, its symbol, but there are also maples, ash trees, holly trees, pear trees, and apple trees. And the rocche del Crasto is a spectacular rocky massif where griffon vulture and golden eagle nest.
• Lago Biviere. It is a great lake (almost twenty hectares) located on the southern slopes of the Nebrodi Mountains.
• Lago Maulazzo. Small but very charming, this lake, overlooked by the monte Saro, is located between the beech trees of the Sollazzo Verde wood.
• Lago Trearie. It is the highest natural lake in Sicily.
• Cascate del Catafurco. About thirty meters high, the waters of these waterfalls fill the so-called Marmitta dei giganti, a sort of cavern where you can swim.

Trails and paths

The Nebrodi adventure park offers nine different types of trails and paths, from the simplest to the most difficult. Some of these trails are specific for children, others are suitable for adults.

Thanks to these trails and paths, you’ll have the possibility to visit Nebrodi Park, one of the largest and most beautiful in Sicily.

How to get there

The Nebrodi adventure park is contrada Pado, in the Città metropolitana di Messina. To get there from the city of the Strait:

• Take E90 motorway towards Palermo;
• Take Rocca di Capri Leone exit;
• Take the county road 157 following the road signs to Longi.

The journey by car takes about one hour and forty minutes.
