Egadi or Eolie? This is one of the biggest doubt of everyone who has chosen Sicily as the destination for the holidays. In this specific case, Favignana is part of Egadi. It’s about 7 km far from the coast of Sicily, so it’s in the province of Trapani.

How to reach Favignana from Palermo

The first thing to do is reaching Trapani:

• By car. Take the A29 motorway to Mazara del Vallo and then follow the road signs to Trapani. The trip takes about 1 hour and half.
• By train. From the Palermo’s central station there are some trains that everyday take to Trapani. The train takes about three hours to arrive. For further information about the times, you can visit the site Trenitalia.com.

Once you arrive in Trapani, you just have to reach the port: from here, everyday there are a lot of hydrofoils and ferries that arrive at Favignana. The trip by hydrofoil takes about half a hour, while by ferry takes an hour.
