If you are looking for an excuse to organize a trip to Sicily in late summer, Robert Capa’s exhibition in Palermo might be the right one. A retrospective to the discovery of the photographer who with his shots has immortalized some of the most significant and dramatic moments in the history of the twentieth century. The exhibition is open until 9 September 2018, at the Real Albergo dei Poveri in Palermo.
The exhibition exhibits more than 100 black and white photographs that Robert Capa, father of photojournalism and founder of the Magnum Photos (1947), took between 1936 and 1954, delivering the visual testimony of the great conflicts of the first half to future generations. 900. Many of Robert Capa’s photos are now part of our imagination, but the exhibition staged in Palermo is an opportunity to learn more about the work of the photographer in Italy during the Second World War, especially in Sicily, in Naples and Cassino.
