Your perfect holiday needs two elements: panoramas like the one in the photo and your trusty motorbike. Are you thinking of visiting Sicily and you need advice on places to see? We can suggest five itineraries that, we can guarantee you, will not make you regret the choice made.
In a sense, this could almost be considered as a path from one sea to another, given that you will start in Palermo, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, and you will reach Sciacca, on the Mediterranean. All this, simply along the strada statale 624.
An itinerary of about fifty kilometers traveled which, in practice, you will have crossed a sort of cross-section of the most suggestive things Sicily can offer: in fact, you will pass from the barren hills of the hinterland to one of the most beautiful stretches of sea in the whole island.
You will start from the city of the famous Valle dei Templi, one of the most beautiful archaeological sites in Sicily, and you will arrive in the city where a lot of the places of Montalbano are located. Between these two points, driving along the strada statale 115, there are several picturesque villages, some lying on the heights, others overlooking the sea.
This itinerary begins in Campofelice di Roccella and ends in Cefalù. The intermediate stages are Scillato, Polizzi Generosa, Castellana Sicula, Petralia Sottana, Piano Battaglia, Isnello and Castelbuono.
If you really want to find out how unforgettable the sea of Sicily can be, then this is the itinerary for you (and, not surprisingly, Taormina and Palermo are two of the most beautiful places in Sicily). Starting from Taormina, take the strada statale 116 to Rocca di Capri Leone. From here, take the strada statale 113 and travel along the north coast, between beaches and breathtaking views. The itinerary is very long, so you might even think of dividing it into two days by resting one night in Rocca di Capri Leone and then leaving the next day in the direction of Palermo.
On closer inspection, itineraries 1, 2, 4 and 5 are all feasible starting from Palermo. So, the Sicilian capital becomes the solution for you if you are looking for where to sleep, also because you will certainly not have problems finding parking spaces where you can leave your motorcycle.
The question of itinerary 3 is different: in fact, from Palermo to Agrigento it is about 2 hours by motorbike, then the actual itinerary begins. Challenging, certainly, but with a little organization it could be feasible. Or you could reach Agrigento from Palermo, visit the city, stay there one night and then leave the next day for the motorbike itinerary.
The same indications apply as to get to Sicily by car. Or:
