The Aeolian Islands are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. And they are not only for their scientific value but also for the beauty of nature. As shown by the most beautiful beaches that can be admired on Vulcano island.
- Spiaggia delle Sabbie Nere. Porto di Ponente makes available to all travellers one of the most famous beaches of Vulcano: we are talking about the beach of the Sabbie Nere. Formed by residues of volcanic stone, the bay, surrounded by rocks and Mediterranean vegetation, can boast an incomparable emerald sea.
- Spiaggia del Gelso. On the south coast of Vulcano this beach opens, made of polished black stones whose color creates a striking contrast with the blue of the sea. The view is enriched by the nearby Gelso lighthouse.
- Spiaggia di punta dell’Asino. Also located on the southern coast of the island. The one of Punta dell’Asino is a beach of very black sand, made even more special by the presence, behind, of a mountain where they grow prickly pears and brooms.
- Spiaggia delle Fumarole. Porto di Levante is one of the localities of the island. Here is the Fumarole beach, one of the most beautiful beaches of the Aeolian Islands. It is so called because it is heated by the sulphurous vapor that flows directly from the seabed. Not far away there is also the natural pool of the Fanghi di Vulcano.
- Piscina di Venere. Finally, the last beach we recommend is a small corner of paradise that can be reached by taking part in a boat excursion. The so-called Piscina di Venere is a stretch of water where the sea is always calm and where you will be surrounded only by unspoiled nature. You can reach it starting from the beach of Ponente.
Once you have booked the trip on one of the ferries to Sicily to Messina, to see the most beautiful beaches of Vulcano you just have to reach Milazzo and, from here, embark on a ferry that will take you to the Aeolian islands.
